So, Stephen, Tell us a little bit about your role here?

I work as a member of the support team at Perspicuity as a Technical Specialist. We support our customers’ environments and processes to ensure that everything continues to function day-to-day.

Tell me about your previous experience that you have brought to Perspicuity…

I started with an interest in IT at college where I studied a Level 3 BTEC, alongside I worked my weekends as a fishmonger where I learnt customer skills from working and selling to them. I Started Perspicuity as an apprentice doing a technical sales apprenticeship where I got to use both skills, I already had experience in.

What does an average day look like?

Working as a member of support no two days are alike and the area you are working on within an environment changes a lot. An average day involves picking up tickets from customers, progressing the tickets and ensuring if they are required to be escalated. This can also involve learning a new area of the system that either I might not have experience or knowledge of.

What’s your favourite thing about your role?

With the ability to continuously learn within Support, I’m required to have a large breadth of knowledge in all areas of the Microsoft system. A fun day is when you get to solve a customer’s issue by either showing them how they could be using a new area of software or simplifying a process to better resolve what they requested.

Tell me about your career at Perspicuity:

I have been through a lot of different teams within Perspicuity which led me to where I am today. I started as an apprentice where I handled selling Microsoft licences, tenant migrations and internal systems. This then put me into an Operations role within perspicuity where internally I supported our systems, the sales team and ensuring that day-to-day our colleagues have the easiest day possible. This is what led me to the support team as I showed that I had a passion to assist others and understand what I am using and how best to use it. And now I spend my day ensuring that both internally and externally everyone is happy with their systems and any issues are resolved as quickly as possible.

What’s been your biggest learning?

Currently Power Automate! It is a tool that has many functions and I’ve been able to support customers that already use it and have them deployed. But also training others in requests that they either want more knowledge in themselves or understanding of a process and what changes can be made. It is an ever-changing aspect that I feel is so powerful within the system that what you could do can always be expanded and reused.

How would you describe what it’s like to work at Perspicuity?

Perspicuity is like no business I hear about, they allow me to build my career as I deem, what do I want to do, how do I want to progress. The freedom of being able to work from anywhere as everything is online, we get to use a Microsoft Surface which makes this possible. We may sound like a small company but the possibilities we have are endless and customers think we are a lot bigger with the amount we can provide. I’ve already managed to work here for a while, with many more to come.
