Challenge
To implement an effective intranet that improves the delivery and consumption of business-critical news across the organisation and to provide easily searchable news content.
Results
A mobile-ready intranet with an increased capacity for news on Paragon's intranet homepage, including content targeting for personalised news feeds.
Our priority was to launch a refreshed intranet with increased capacity for news on the homepage, a better search functionality, and an easier to navigate site. Perspicuity helped us deliver this to our target launch date and were on hand to support us with any issues when needed.

About Paragon Bank
Paragon Banking Group PLC is a specialist finance provider offering a range of savings products and providing finance for landlords, small businesses, and property developers in the UK. Headquartered in the West Midlands, Paragon has over 1,500 employees, £12.3bn of loads under management, 1.5m+ serviced customer accounts, and over £10bn of savings deposits.
The Opportunity
News and information is shared via Paragon's intranet to ensure employees are kept up-to-date, engaged and inspired. Paragon was publishing around five news articles each working day in a SharePoint environment and the functionality of the homepage and wider site meant that important information was often being missed, and employees were struggling to find key content. Percy Intranet was a natural fit as Paragon was already familiar with, and making use of, SharePoint.
The Perspicuity Solution
Paragon worked with Perspicuity to develop an intranet that provides its employees with effective news and content while also being easier to navigate, ensuring employees are kept informed, engaged and collaborative.
Providing an enhanced news experience was the key goals of this new intranet. By planning and hosting a series of workshops and pulse calls, Perspicuity collaborated with key stakeholders in Paragon to create clear categories for its news. This enabled a much smoother search experience when trying to find legacy articles, whilst targeting streamlined the way news is delivered to its end users, creating a more personalised experience for all employees. Now, when necessary, news articles are personalised based on location.
The Outcomes
Since launch, Paragon and Perspicuity have developed an intranet that delivers high volumes of news in a more effective and engaging way. With the custom News Hero web part and introduction of newsfeeds that are filtered to present certain articles based on tags (e.g. wellbeing, equality and diversity, charity, etc.), employees are now able to view news articles based on topics relevant to them.
With Percy Intranet also cam new ways of working: Percy Acknowledge, for example, provides Paragon with the ability to issue new policies and procedures for employees to review and acknowledge organisation-wide, by department, or on an individual basis. Additionally, Percy Intranet is mobile-ready meaning news can be read on-the-go on any device, keeping news front of mind for Paragon's fast-paced, hybrid workforce.
"Our priority was to launch a refreshed intranet with increased capacity for news on the homepage, a better search functionality, and an easier to navigate site. Perspicuity helped us deliver this to our target launch date and were on hand to support us with any issues when needed. The custom-built news overflow has been a huge step forward in ensuring important information doesn't get missed and the site is now far more effective in helping us delivery our strategy as a communications team."
