Head of Project Management Office
So, Ellie, tell us about your role at Perspicuity
I am part of the amazing Projects team and am the head of the Project Management Office. I have been part of Perspicuity since 2020.
Tell us about your previous experience
Coming to Perspicuity was a massive career change for me but it has been the best decision I have ever made. Previously I have done a range of jobs including Personal Training, Fitness Manager at a Sports Centre and then decided to join the Royal Navy as a Medic. I love the outdoors and have always been one for DOING but I needed a career where I could separate my hobbies and work life.
I put all my energy and enthusiasm now into our Projects and customers to ensure they get the best possible experience with us.
What does an average day look like for you?
Every day is different, which is why I love my job so much! I am constantly talking to people, whether that is a customer or one of our talented consultants. This is a skill I was luckily enough born to do and could talk all day if I had to!
As well as all the meetings I have I also do lots in the background to get projects set up and ready to kick off. I create Project Plans which enables us to manage the timeline and deadlines of all projects as well as book time to reflect on everything we do.
Running weekly pulse calls for each project is a big part of my job, these are great as they keep everyone involved, including the customer, aligned and up to date with any changes, progress or issues along the way.
What's your favourite thing about your role?
As there are so many, I will choose just 1 – getting feedback from our customers at the end of a Project is so rewarding! I also get to relay this feedback back to the people who delivered the Project which is just amazing. I love it when people get rewarded for doing great things!
Tell me about your career at Perspicuity
I love that I learn something new about the wonderful world of Microsoft every day, and I don’t think that will ever stop as technology is always changing and growing as we do. I finally feel like I have found that job in life which suits me, and I can see myself progressing in the years to come.
What's been your biggest learning?
People are amazing! Everyone here at Perspicuity each have something to bring to this amazing team and we are all different and unique in our own ways. We all work so well as a team and individually and there is nothing that can stop us grow! Working alongside some of the talented consultants and developers is a real eye opener, I have learnt so much just by listening to them on the phone to customers.
What's it like to work at Perspicuity?
I can’t even think of a word to describe it – there isn’t one good enough! I have never worked for a company that values its colleagues so much and is always looking to be better than the rest. We are a sociable bunch and know how to put on a party, but as well as this we also know how to work hard and never stop progressing onwards and upwards!
